Movie Reviews

Sunday, July 15th, 2007

My wife and I signed up recently with Blockbuster for their Total Access service, which works similarly to Netflix. I’ve installed the excellent plug-in WP Movie Ratings to document my brief thoughts on a particular movie that we’ve seen, whether in DVD or celluloid form. My latest movie reviews are listed on the homepage and the archived reviews can be viewed here.

Mark at Clickmomukhamo has been using the plug-in for a while now and he’s helped me in setting it up here (thanks Mark!).

I’m Back (Sort of)

Saturday, August 26th, 2006

My previous entry, that sad little linked quote of an entry, is all I can muster up after a couple of weeks of absence. But I’ll have to settle for this type of post for the next few weeks in order to keep this blog alive.

It’s been hectic. There were deadlines to meet, kids to bathe, clothes to separate, meals to prepare, piled-up dishes to wash, and parties to attend. And school for the kids and the wife starts next week.

I looked into the WordPress plugin Daily Del.icio.us, something that may give my blog some semblance of activity, but I just don’t bookmark links that often. There’s something called Weekly Del.icio.us but I couldn’t get it to work the first few times I activated it. I’ll look into it again some other time.

Akismet, A-tasket

Wednesday, May 17th, 2006

I should’ve installed the anti-spam plug-in Akismet a long time ago. I activated it today and it shows I’ve got 396 comments identified as spam dating all the way back to October 2005! I guess these are ones that Wordpress’s default comment spam tools have missed.

Get Web 2.0 Certified

Monday, March 20th, 2006

Certifyr is “half commentary on the shape of the new web and half a big ol’ joke.” Coincidentally, my weblog was found to be “50% Web 2.0 Compliant.” I attribute it to the built-in Web 2.0-ness of Wordpress itself. Well, it was boosted a little by the tagging system which I finally applied to all my entries last night (it took me a few days).
