Comfort Room

Sunday, April 8th, 2007

You know how Pinoys call restrooms “comfort rooms”? Well, check this Gizmodo video out where auditioning inventors for the show American Inventor are interviewed in the Tenderloin in San Francisco. The second person shown interviewed is a manong who touts his creation, The Comfort Throne. “When you sit on it, it looks like you don’t want to get up,” he says. Hey, he should partner with Microsoft and Google TiSP for one killer toilet surfing solution.

iLoo, youLooked

Tuesday, May 13th, 2003

Those bloody Brits, they got us:

Microsoft Corp. said a company news release that it was developing a portable toilet with Internet access, called an “iLoo,” was a hoax perpetrated by its British division.

But then:

“MSN is really working on building a prototype for the Summer festivals, perhaps Glastonbury … This is very much a ‘toe in the water’ experiment to gauge interest so we’ll have to see how it goes, although judging from response so far it’s really captured people’s imagination!”

[Update: I knew it. This was not a hoax after all. But the project’s dead in the (toilet) water says Microsoft.]

MS is apparently developing a portable toilet complete with waterproof plasma screen and keyboard for surfing while doing your “business.” It is dubbed the “iLoo.” This, from the same maker of the “Explorer”, a recliner for lazy web surfers.
