Philippine History at Wikipedia

Friday, October 20th, 2006

Today’s featured article on Wikipedia is the History of the Philippines.

On this day, October 20, sixty-two years ago, General Douglas MacArthur returned to the Philippines as promised. In 1955 on this day, The Return of the King was first published. The Monterey Bay Aquarium first opened its doors on this day in 1984. The Oakland Hills firestorm also happened on this day in 1991. This day also happens to be my birthday.

I waited for my link to the History of the Philippines to appear as a post using del.icio.us’s built-in daily blog tool but it failed for some reason. I just have to post links like this manually, I suppose.

I’m Back (Sort of)

Saturday, August 26th, 2006

My previous entry, that sad little linked quote of an entry, is all I can muster up after a couple of weeks of absence. But I’ll have to settle for this type of post for the next few weeks in order to keep this blog alive.

It’s been hectic. There were deadlines to meet, kids to bathe, clothes to separate, meals to prepare, piled-up dishes to wash, and parties to attend. And school for the kids and the wife starts next week.

I looked into the WordPress plugin Daily Del.icio.us, something that may give my blog some semblance of activity, but I just don’t bookmark links that often. There’s something called Weekly Del.icio.us but I couldn’t get it to work the first few times I activated it. I’ll look into it again some other time.

OFW TV

Saturday, February 19th, 2005

An e-mail touting a new TV channel/website called OFW-TV was sent to me this morning. I don’t qualify as an “Overseas Filipino Worker” but I find some of the site’s contents, which contain lots of video, interesting to watch.

(I should set-up a del.icio.us account for stuff like this, shouldn’t I? But then again, I probably shouldn’t yet, lest my main blog content would become totally sparse. Just been so busy.)
