Julia Campbell, RIP
Wednesday, April 18th, 2007Slain Peace Corps volunteer Julia Campbell’s last post in her blog, Julia in the Philippines, is entitled “Buhay Pa Tayo” (We’re Still Alive). She disappeared April 8 while hiking by herself. Searchers found her body in a shallow grave in a dry river bed in Banaue, Ifugao. Authorities believe foul play was involved.
Her blog profile says: “At the age of 38, I decided to step out of the rat race of New York, join the Peace Corps and board a plane for Manila. This blog is dedicated to my adventures in the Philippines for the next two years. Wish me luck.”
