Family Camp ’06

We camped out for three-days and two-nights over the weekend in the Santa Cruz mountains. Yes, it’s our church’s annual Family Camp once again. We weren’t exactly roughing it. Each of our tents had easy access to electrical outlets and the bathrooms were a short walk away. I didn’t give into the temptation of bringing my laptop this time. I imagine I would’ve been checking my e-mail or reading my frequented sites during free time. I got a much needed nap instead.

The camp program was a little more relaxed this year. We had organized games, but the camp wasn’t divided between competing teams as in the past years. This year’s theme is that of “casting the vision” of our church for the year to come. Our new mission statement was introduced, one that centers on improved worship, a more committed evangelistic outreach and the regular training of disciples and leaders.

lucky you, in our church, all we got was a ‘lousy’ picnic. I take it back, free food from picnic can never be lousy. ;-) http://flickr.com/photos/erniea/sets/72157594162724491/

Hey, a centenary picnic is nothing to sneeze at. It’s only been ten years for us.
