Prom
I’ve been dreading posting this entry. A week or so ago, Michelle and Lei posted their senior prom pictures from back in the day. I thought they were brave for doing so (but really had nothing to worry about since they both looked good). I said I was thinking of also posting my prom picture. I’m not much older than they are, but they’re safe in saying their photos are from the ’90s still. My prom pic is from the eighties. Yikes. Without further ado here’s mine (I know I’ll regret this someday).
About my date, she wasn’t my girlfriend. I never had a girlfriend in high school.* She’s someone I met a couple of months earlier whom I then asked to be my date for the prom. I didn’t really know her that well so there was some uneasiness hanging out with her and my classmates. I remember we dropped her home early after the prom. My friends and I then proceeded to the Fairmont Hotel where we had a reservation for a suite. Although it had the trappings of a potential wild night (a game of Twister and a bathtub filled with chilled beverages unsuitable for minors), nothing came of it. We went home that morning as innocent as we were before the prom began.
Ok back to photos, I dare you women out there to post your old Dore pictures. Bwahahaha!
*I met my first girlfriend the summer after high school graduation

Michelle: I remember that was the thing for girls to do - get their pictures taken at Dore Studio. Are you sure you don’t have any hidden somewhere?
Ibalik: Hahaha. I did buy some of my clothes from Oaktree! Remember the look? Guess sweatshirt, turtleneck, Starter jacket, white Levis and white Vans shoes to match. Hehe. Hey you’ll be here next week? Email me brah: danielATdeebeedeeDOTcom.
Ernie: Only if you weren’t at the other side of the country, why I oughta… You just made that day of regret today, you know that?

Haha! The nuns at St. Jo banned junior and senior prom so thank goodness for that. Otherwise I probably would’ve been compelled to post my picture as well.
At any rate, I have some yearbooks from the 70s. I believe I have a photo or two of you in there (Grade 3, I think). Wanna see?

Oh no, I’m haunted by my past! Grade 3, Marie? Sure, I’d like to see it. I have the ones from my Kinder, 2nd Grade and 4th Grade years. Would you like to see your photos from those yearbooks? You know, I’ve been meaning to write about our school in Manila. One of these days…

Hahaha! Sorry for bringing it up but since you were a bit nostalgic about the past, I figured I might as well mention the 70s too. You were a cute kid too! Anyhow, I just checked. I only have your Kindergarten and Grade 4 pics which you already have.

That’s okay, Marie. Hey I’ll scan your pic from the other yearbook and send it to you soon. Or I’ll just post it here. Just kidding! (but I’m sure you wouldn’t want to deprive us of your cuteness now, would you?)
Hey Ernie, go ahead laugh, I don’t mind. I cherish that picture of me and my mullet. It’s a symbol of the vitality I once had. Hehe! BUT I draw the line at VOTE FOR PEDRO jokes. No, no, no…
