No New Adobe Mac Software ‘Til ‘07

I get to keep my trusty old iBook and PowerMac G4 for at least one more year. There won’t be Universal versions of Adobe graphics software designed to run on the new Intel Macs until Spring 2007. I suspect most graphic design studios and printing places won’t upgrade their Macs until then either. 2006 will probably be a slow sales year for Mac hardware. It’s a good thing Apple has the iPod to fall back on.

Update (April 5): Well, well. Here’s how Apple solves a slow sales year - they release today Boot Camp, beta software that allows Intel Macs to boot in either OS X or Windows XP. It’ll also be included in the next major OS X release, Leopard. (via erniea)
