Here’s a snapshot of the system profiler of an Apple iMac with a 2 Ghz Dual Core Intel chip.
Another year, another Macworld. The usual gang of suspects were there, although the crowd did seem bigger this year than previous years. There were the show presenters, the bubbly vendors, and attractive booth babes. The place was also teeming with creative folk as expected. The whole gamut was represented: agency principals, designers, hipster art students, musicians and photographers. Geeks were also in full force: there were the developers, the gamers, and Mac enthusiasts that seemed to have been Apple devotees since the inception of the Macintosh two decades ago. You’d see a couple of suits walking by once in a while.
Although it may seem like I’ve been people watching the entire time, the photos I took prove otherwise (they’re more of the booth and gadget variety). View them here.*
*about the photos, I thought of uploading them to my new Flickr account, this being a new year and all, but I ran into some problems. All methods of uploading photos failed: from the web-based technique, to the stand-alone Flickr Uploadr, to the iPhoto plug-in. Oh well, I’ll try again some other day.
Eventually Macs will have the Intel Inside stickers! Oh well, I wish they went with AMD instead. The dual cores from Intel and AMD are very powerful but I would wait a bit before buying the first gen Mac/Intel units.
Yeah, I’d wait too. None of the apps I use for work are optimized for the Intel chips yet.
