Revelations

I’m no big fan of end-time stories but I think I’ll check out Revelations premiering tonight on NBC. I’m currently listening to an interview with its producer, Gavin Polone (Panic Room, Curb Your Enthusiasm), on the Michael Medved Show. Polone admits he’s attempting to do a “stepped-up” version of the Left Behind movies, in terms of production, writing and acting, which should give the genre a shot in the arm.

Eschatological matters largely elude me. All I know is the Creator of the universe triumphs in the end. And we all better know on whose side we’ll be before then.

i like eschatology. (uh oh, i think i just made myself sound like a geek there.) i don’t know, but i’ve been reading up on the endtimes since i was in 5th grade… or roughly 11 years ago. but i still haven’t mastered it, anyway. i still get confused with all the pre-trib, mid-trib, and post-trib theories on the rapture, and stuff like that.

okay, i’ll let you in on something. in high school, i wanted to be a pastor. seriously. i actually found biblical theology and prophecy fun. (up to now, i keep a veritable collection of books on reformed theology, biblical prophecy/eschatology, and the bible codes.)

these are interesting times we’re in, eschatologically speaking. especially with the death of jp2. (no offense meant to catholics, though.)

in fact, these past few days since the pope died, i’ve been going back to my books on eschatology and prophecy – mainly from the protestant view – to see if the death of jp2 has any eschatological significance. (after all, there are rumors that his successor is/will be the antichrist foretold in scripture.)

i’m still doing my research – for fun – and i hope to finish by weekend, so that i can post my theories (based on scriptural sources, of course) in time for the start of the papal conclave on monday. however, i’m sure it’ll ruffle some of my readers’ catholic feathers – as i never fail to do when i post something of theological (i.e. protestant) relevance.

tsk tsk. sorry for the unforseen length. got carried away. ;p

Wow, Nate, you’re really into it, aren’t you? That’s cool about the long comment — I miss those. The last time I had a long comment like this was on my first post on the DaVinci Code:
