Friendster’s a hit in Manila, according to this Wired article. It “first gained traction with the large Filipino community in the San Francisco Bay Area, then spread across the Pacific.” Although part of this community, I have for years not succumbed to signing up at the social-networking site. I share the same sentiment as this quote in the article: “(w)hen you put up a website, your audience is the world.” With my website, I’m a Google search away from anyone who wants to find me (and a few old friends have). I imagine, however, that I’d greatly benefit from Pusit, Friendster’s Filipino answer to Craigslist, if I still lived in Manila.

If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.

“Google X is virtually identical to regular Google, but features neat icons for Google’s services that enlarge when you move your cursor over them,” according to Mac Observer. The creation by Google Labs is down at the moment, but someone put a mirror of it here. And if that goes down too, here’s a screenshot of it. You’ll just have to imagine the icons animate like OS X Dock icons at 3fps.
