Be Gone, Comment Spam!
Should’ve installed MT-Blacklist sooner. I’ll see how well it does blocking spam comments. If it ain’t good enough, I’d have to change the name of my comments file (as suggested here).
Update: Hey, it works:

And combined with today’s spam crackdown, things are looking much brighter.

Hey!
Not to put down MT or anything, but I’ve tried almost everything (plugins and all) to stop my spam-plagued blog (http://arnoldgamboa.com). I then decided to move to Wordpress. I coudn’t be happier
It has built in capabilities to stop spam. I’m also using a plug in where every post past 7 days will not be posted right away rather, will require you to approve it first. (They say, posts beyond 1 week are most vulnerable to spam). In effect, it filters all spam while allowing me to post those that are valid.
Consider Wordpress, bro., if you have a real spam problem.

So far MT-Blacklist is working out for me. Wordpress and that plug-in sound spiffy though. Thanks for the recommendation. But right now messing with my templates sounds daunting. I’ll consider a new content publishing system when I redesign this seriously outdated site, hmm, uh… soon?

It’s not so bad. I did move over to WP a couple of months ago. You do want to comb through their forums because the CSS was not that clear (there are some divs in the index file that are not defined in the CSS for instance). Installation was a cinch once I figured out the problems related to an MS server.
