Bend It Like Beckham

“It’s incredible! Santa Clara! It’s in California. It’s like one of the top teams.”

- Keira Knightley’s character upon learning she was granted a full soccer scholarship to play with a team in America.

Yes, Santa Clara, the city where I work. I bet I know where they would practice if this were all true - at the Youth Soccer Park across the street from the train station where I get off. It sits beside the field where the San Francisco 49ers train.

On a side note, one of Jes’s Indian guy friends is played by English-Filipino actor Trey Farley.

There’s a Tung Kee that opened two years ago here in Fremont! I haven’t been there in a while but now that it’s getting colder, it’s the perfect time to have their wonderful noodle soups.
