Apple Store San Francisco
Wednesday, March 5th, 2003According to this San Francisco Business Times article, Apple is opening its fourth Bay Area store in Union Square. I’m surprised that Union Square is described as “blighted.” Apparently the upscale S.F. shopping area has lost a few tenants such as Prada, Bally, Planet Hollywood and a “soon-to-be-departed” FAO Schwartz.
Update: when I wrote this entry there were only three other Apple Stores in the Bay Area. Two others have opened up since: the Walnut Creek store and the Burlingame store. This makes the San Francisco store, which will open in 2004, effectively the sixth Apple Store in the Bay Area.
Update 2 (11.02.2003): okay, I should quit figuring what number the San Francisco Apple Store would be. An Apple Store just opened up in Corte Madera which makes it the sixth Apple Store in the Bay Area. The S.F. Apple Store in the meantime is still under construction.
