A Mournful Day in the Neighborhood
Mister Rogers passed away early this morning. My 6 year old loved watching his show when he was a toddler. Now my dilemma: how to break the news to him. Growing up, we had “Uncle Bob’s Lucky Seven Club,” roughly a Filipino equivalent of Mr. Fred Rogers’s show.

Mr. Rogers died? How sad! I used to watch his show on cable on Star World (when it was still Star Plus) when I was about 13 years old. “It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day for a neighbor… Would you be mine?”

His passing saddens me as well. He was genuinely gentle and caring. I did not know he was a Presbyterian pastor until I read his obituary.
